Lisbon hosts Ocean Summit

The Ocean Summit, which kicked off in Lisbon, included the participation of the grandson of sailor Jean-Jacques Cousteau. He represents the "Proteus" Project, which envisions the installation of a maritime station in various locations around the world, including Portugal and Cape Verde.
More than a hundred people attended the opening of the Ocean Summit 2024.

Paulo Veiga, President of the Carlos Albertino Veiga Foundation, organizer of this initiative, in partnership with the Portuguese Navy and the Proteus Ocean Group of the USA, stressed that the idea of the Ocean Summit "is to start and launch" the race to the Ocean.
Paulo Veiga says that the Ocean Summit is a "unique opportunity" to bring together "brilliant minds" and discuss "concrete solutions" to protect the oceans.

The Planetarium and Maritime Museum in the Portuguese capital will host the first edition of the Ocean Summit 2024 for two days, an international event that will bring together renowned experts from four continents, including Cape Verde, and is organized by the Carlos Albertino Veiga Foundation.
