The Carlos Albertino Veiga Foundation was born from the desire to perpetuate the values and legacy of its founder. Focused on promoting human and social development, the Foundation seeks to offer opportunities to the most disadvantaged, strengthen Cape Verdean civil society, and support the implementation of new technologies. With a special emphasis on the areas of education, health, and social housing, the Foundation works to promote a more just, egalitarian, and free society.

Carlos Albertino Barreto de Carvalho Veiga, born on January 13, 1935, in Santa Catarina, Santiago, Cape Verde, is a living example of resilience and dedication. From an early age, inspired by the work and values of his parents, Carlos Albertino forged a path marked by entrepreneurship, public service, and commitment to his country. From his childhood to his experiences in the United States and Angola, his life journey reflects a spirit of overcoming challenges, innovation, and love for his homeland. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to politics, the economic and social development of Cape Verde, and his community, always with the goal of improving the lives of Cape Verdeans.
