A sea of opportunities for Cape Verde

Reinforcing its commitment to the defense of the Ocean and its dedication to the development of Cape Verde, the Carlos Albertino Veiga Foundation signed three important cooperation protocols in Mindelo with the main institutions of the Ministry of the Sea: the National Directorate of Maritime Policies, the National Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and the Institute of the Sea.

With the presence of the Minister of the Sea, Eng. Jorge Santos, and our President, Dr. Paulo Veiga, we sealed a commitment that goes far beyond a formal act; it is a strategic alliance to promote ocean literacy, blue innovation, applied scientific research, the development of human capital, and the protection of our marine ecosystems.

Together, we will work towards a more sustainable ocean, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 13 and 14) and the National Maritime Strategy 2023–2033.

Because the sea is a strategic national asset, and a large part of Cape Verde's future is written within it, this partnership is more than a step; it is a decisive dive towards a country that values and protects its greatest treasure: the Ocean.
