On International Human Rights Day, the Carlos Albertino Veiga Foundation was present at the "Ocean Governance and Human Rights" Conference, held in Oeiras.
Participating in this meeting meant reaffirming our commitment to an agenda that is simultaneously environmental, social, and civilizational, and defending human dignity in the maritime space, promoting protected and inclusive oceans, and strengthening international cooperation so that the sea may be a source of life, equity, and sustainable development.
As an island nation and Big Ocean State, Cape Verde is at the heart of this debate. The Foundation assumes its role in contributing to solutions that link science, governance, the blue economy, and social justice because the future of the ocean is also the future of our communities.
We remain committed to building knowledge, educating people, and advocating for public policies that place humanity and the ocean on the same horizon of value.
